We believe that what we believe matters.

We strive to understand the faith in light of what the Bible teaches.

  • JESUS CHRIST

Jesus Christ is at the center of everything. We believe that Jesus is the only one who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life. We believe that Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.

“There is one Lord, who is God’s Son Jesus Christ, over the church. Christ is the church’s ultimate authority on all matters.” Acts 2:36

  • THE TRINITY

We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” 2 Corinthians 13:14

  • THE BIBLE

We believe that the Bible is God’s inerrant Word. It is accurate, authoritative, and applicable to our everyday lives. In it, we have everything we need for life and godliness.

“The Bible is our rule of faith, and Christ alone is Lord.” This verse from a Church of God heritage hymn sums up our belief system.

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17

  • SIN

We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives. We are born in sin because of our first father Adam, and through his fall, we all inherited the curse of death and eternal separation from God.

“Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned...” Romans 5:12

  • REDEMPTION

Jesus came to earth, lived a perfect life, and then died on the cross on our behalf as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. To receive forgiveness and reconciliation with God, we must repent of our sins, believe in Jesus as Lord, and commit to His will for our lives as we obey all that He commands.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

  • THE CHURCH

We believe in the power and significance of the Church and the necessity of believers to meet regularly together as we are instructed in the Scriptures. The church is where we have a family of families, living in obedience to Christ. We do this by learning from His word, singing praises to Him, and praying with and for each other, bearing one another's burdens.

The Body of Christ is the church, which consists of all who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Therefore, all members of the church are those who are born again.

“And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.” Ephesians 1:22-23

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” Hebrews 10:24-25

  • CHRISTIAN HOLINESS

We believe that the Bible teaches that all members of the church are called to live a holy life.

“As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy.’” 1 Peter 1:14-16

“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:1-2
